Feb 5: “You are the salt of the Earth. But if salt becomes tasteless, what can make it salty again?”

Dear You,

Today is all about realising that you are destined for greater things, wonderful abundant things. God did not put you on this Earth to be meagre, out of 10^2,685,000  possibilities you were born. On days when you feel less special, when you feel that you’re drowning in a pool of blackness remember God has a plan for you. For you. You are greater than you realise. We are all greater than we realise.

Jesus said “You are the light of the Earth”.

He didn’t say you as long as you are skinny, tall, English, African, straight, gay, able or not able.

He said you.

God does not make mistakes. You are not a mistake. He realises the potential that you have and the biggest shame would be for you to hide that. You have an idea? Go for it. You have a dream? Catch it. You want to reach for the stars? Climb.

The Lord has given you the biggest platform; with God nothing is impossible.

“No one lights a lamp to put it under a tub; they put it on the lamp stand where it shines for everyone in the house.” -Matthew 5:

We cannot let our greatness be hidden behind closed doors or walls, our voices dimmed by the thousands, our voices silenced. We need to speak up for the silenced. Stand against the oppressor. Be in that minority. Scream against injustice. Our gift to God is the way we use our gift. Many of us, I included, take every breath for granted – the fact that we woke up today is a miracle in itself. Remind yourself of that. Humble yourself.

We are alive for a reason. Sometimes that can be overwhelming and a massive burden to bear. But strip it down to the core values “Love one another as I have loved you.” without judgement, hate, anger, sin, deceit. Spread Christ’s message with happiness. Give everyone a smile.

Some of us may feel like we do not have anything great to offer the world, but just our presence (spreading love) is enough. Giving a small compliment, a smile, having a quick chat can impact someone’s day. Remember no one ever forgets how you made them feel.

Mother Theresa sums it up quite nicely

Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.

If all of us went around spreading great love, the world will definitely be a better place. In times of racism, oppression, modern day slavery and human crises let us spread great love.
